Never ONCE did ever say the W/Me build relied on IW, I explained that it was a utility skill to use in certain scenarios and works well within those scenarios. The build is based on axe damage attacks with adrenaline skills instead of energy skills. Of course you can't build adrenaline while under the effects of IW and this build doesn't attempt to or need to. This build is not an all out 16 spec axe damage build but certainly does plenty of damage without IW. Again, IW is used in this build as a utility for specific situations. This is the major difference between a W/Me and a Me/W IW build, the warrior doesn't have the armor disadvantage of the Mesmer and the warrior can rely on an actual melee weapon instead of the only damage coming from IW. So even if IW were to get stripped during a scenario use, you can always fall back to reliable axe attacks.
So IW is only needed in certain situations? But most builds will revolve around a single elite. It's a wasted elite if it is only used part of the time. There are better ways to counter blind, such as [Sight Beyond Sight]. And you still haven't shown us this supposedly powerful IW build.

[illusionary [email protected]] is not big damage. It's pathetic.

All Blkout is really proving is that 3 years of playing don't make you good. Time to bring in the catpics?
What's REALLY pathetic is that you think simply because you didn't create this build or probably any original build of your own for that matter that I'm somehow an inferior player and you couldn't be further from the truth. The difference between you and I is that I like to try to find a build or a place on a skill bar for 80-90% of the skills in the game from all professions. After 3 years of playing I've seen countless invinci-builds come and go but what I've learned over the years is that creating new builds really helps to conquer boredom and develops individual thinking which is where some great builds have come from. People like yourself spend more time forcing your own builds down the throats of others and not even considering the possibility of a build you haven't used probably because you didn't create it yourself. Do you fear the unknown or do you fear people that might have thought of something better than your own idea? Which is it?

No need to answer could I don't care at all. My build works well and no matter what you or anyone else says about it, won't change it's effectiveness. It's no secret, just intelligent thinking and 3 years of experience used to learn and master the skills of the game.

No one is arguing whether or not IW is fun to play. It is a lot of fun to use, I will admit. They are arguing its efficiency. And most players after 3 years of playing have decided that IW is not very efficient.

SBS can be countered just as easily as IW... with disenchant. The fact is, if someone wants to keep you blinded, they can do it over and over and there's nothing you can do about without wasting lots of energy trying to remove it. With IW on your toolbar as a utility, you can leave blind on and still do great damage. This also applies to weakness which just kills melee attack damage, IW shines in this area too. Then there's pesky ranger or warriors that block attacks, but they can't with IW. Then there's the Level 28 creatures in the game with insane armor that reduces your melee attacks to next to nothing, well IW ignores armor and does more overall damage there too.

Like I said, it's a utility skill when used in the right place can be far more effective than condition removal or battling high level creatures.

In RA it can be very effective when your opponent see's your axe wielding warrior running at him and decides to blind you, then possible weaken you too. Sure you could waste your skills and energy trying to remove those conditions or you could smply change to IW for a while until those condition wear off. Or maybe you come running hard at another warrior or ranger with good armor and you start trading blows but he's getting the better of you or he's blocking your melee attacks, activate IW and start dealing pain he never expected. You see, in RA, your opponent cannot cover for every possibly scenario with only 8 skills, therefore it's a guess as to what your opponent is going to bring, you hope you brought the skills to counter his. With IW, it's a tool that overcomes blindness, weakness, blocking, dodging, higher armor, etc...

I was never arguing otherwise. I argued that it's a GREAT utility skill. I never once designed a build that relied on IW, otherwise a build like that WILL fail. It seems that when anyone even mentions IW, people's first thought is crap, without even considering how it's being used. It's still a strong skill, used correctly.

If you aren't willing to listen to others, then the discussion is over. Closed.
